Auscraft's Kid Size Picnic Table is built at our West Gosford NSW workshop from the same Class 1 hardwood as our full-size commercial range — scaled down for children aged 2 to 12. No softwood, no plastic, no pressed timber. Real Spotted Gum or Merbau, manufactured to the same standard we use for school playgrounds and council parks.
Safe Design for Children — What Makes It Different
The Kid Size table is designed with child safety as the primary constraint. All edges and corners are rounded. No exposed metal fasteners in the seating zone. Seat height, table height and under-table clearance are set to DDA-accessible proportions appropriate for young children. The table weight means it stays put without anchoring — no tip risk in normal backyard use.

Timber Options for Kids Outdoor Furniture
Spotted Gum is our most popular choice for the Kid Size table. It has a naturally smooth grain — less likely to splinter than coarser-grained timbers — and a warm honey-brown tone that suits both contemporary and traditional outdoor settings. Merbau is also available: rich warm red tones, natural oils, and similarly smooth surface. Both are chemical-free — important for furniture used by young children.
Dimensions and Sizing
