Picnic Tables for Resorts and Accommodation Properties | Auscraft

Resorts and accommodation properties need outdoor furniture that holds up to guest use, year-round weather exposure and the aesthetic expectations of paying guests. Auscraft hardwood picnic tables are built for exactly this environment — commercial-grade durability, premium timber appearance, and a 20–30 year service life with minimal upkeep.

Why Resorts Choose Australian Hardwood Picnic Tables

Guests notice outdoor furniture. In a resort or premium accommodation setting, low-quality outdoor seating — faded plastic, rusting steel, splintering pine — detracts from the guest experience and generates maintenance calls. Australian hardwood resolves both problems.

Ironbark and Spotted Gum are Durability Class 1 species (AS 5604) — the highest above-ground outdoor durability rating available in Australian timber. In a resort environment with coastal exposure, pool surrounds, tropical humidity or alpine frost, the same table performs decade after decade. Annual oiling is the only routine maintenance required.

Supply outdoor furniture that guests notice — for the right reason.

Applications in Resort Settings

  • Pool deck and outdoor dining areas — Spotted Gum or Merbau suits pool environs; both resist moisture well with annual oiling
  • BBQ and communal zones — Heavy Duty Commercial Grade for high-traffic areas with umbrella hole option
  • Glamping and eco-resort sites — Premium Hardwood with natural timber stain; custom dimensions available for glamping tent surrounds
  • Coastal and waterfront properties — Ironbark is the strongest species for exposed coastal settings; Durability Class 1 handles salt air without structural change
  • Garden and lawn areas — Classic 6-seater in natural or oiled finish; blends with resort landscaping

Custom Finishes for Premium Properties

Coastal and Climate Performance

Coastal Resorts

Ironbark or Spotted Gum. Both Durability Class 1 — salt air does not accelerate deterioration. Annual oiling maintains appearance. Expected service life: 25–40 years.

Tropical / QLD Properties

Merbau performs excellently in tropical humidity. Naturally oily species — more moisture-tolerant than other hardwoods. Resists fungal growth and does not cup in wet-dry cycles.

Alpine / Southern Resorts

Ironbark handles frost and temperature extremes without structural change. Heavy Duty Commercial Grade for ski resort environments — reinforced construction for snow load clearance.

Frequently Asked Questions — Resort Picnic Tables

What timber is best for a coastal resort outdoor area?

For coastal resorts with salt air exposure, we recommend Ironbark or Spotted Gum — both are Durability Class 1 (AS 5604), the highest above-ground outdoor rating in Australian timber. Neither species is structurally affected by salt air. Annual oiling with a penetrating hardwood oil maintains appearance and surface protection. Expected service life in coastal above-ground applications is 25–40 years. Avoid treated pine in coastal settings — it deteriorates significantly faster in salt air environments.

Can you match our resort's existing timber finish?

Yes. We build to order and can apply custom stain finishes including white wash, dark walnut, charcoal, raw natural and custom tones. Provide a photo of your existing outdoor furniture or decking and we'll recommend the closest matching stain option. We can also paint legs in a specified RAL colour if you need to match painted deck frames or railings.

How many tables can you supply for a resort opening?

There is no upper limit on order quantity. We have supplied single tables and orders of 50+ tables. For resort openings and large project fitouts, plan for 6–10 weeks lead time on orders of 20+ tables — longer in peak season (October–January). Contact us as early as possible for large project orders so we can lock in your production slot and freight logistics.

Do you supply umbrella holes in picnic tables for resort settings?

Yes. Umbrella holes are available on most models and must be specified at the quoting stage. We drill a standard 50mm hole in the centre of the table top, suited to most market umbrella poles. If you need a different diameter, specify at quote request. Umbrellas and bases are not supplied — tables only.
