Every Auscraft picnic table is a custom order. We don't stock finished tables — each one is handcrafted at our West Gosford, NSW workshop to your specified dimensions, timber species, configuration and finish. What You Can Customise

Timber Species

Choose from our four core hardwood species, all AS 5604 Durability Class 1 above-ground:

  • Ironbark — maximum durability (Janka 14 kN), deep red-brown grain. Best for high-traffic commercial and council environments.
  • Spotted Gum — honey to chocolate grain with visible character. The most popular choice for both commercial and premium residential settings.
  • Merbau — warm orange-brown, tolerates moisture and pool-surrounds well.
  • QLD Red Gum — distinctive red grain, strong character, premium positioning.

Dimensions and Size

Standard lengths: 1200mm (4-seater), 1800mm (6-seater), 2400mm (8-seater), 3000mm (10-seater). We build to any length you specify. Table height, bench height and overhang can all be adjusted for specific use cases — schoolchildren's dimensions, standing-height bar tables, or ultra-wide commercial configurations are all achievable.

Configuration

  • Standard: bench seats both sides, fixed to table frame
  • Accessible: end-entry one or both ends (AS 1428.1 wheelchair clearance)
  • Umbrella hole: 50mm or 75mm centre aperture
  • Detached bench option: seats as separate freestanding units rather than attached

Finish and Colour

Standard finish: natural oil (Tung or Linseed) revealing the timber's natural grain. Custom stain options are available in a range from light wash to deep charcoal, dark walnut and heritage green — specify at quoting stage. Painted finishes are available for schools and childcare settings requiring specific colour matching.

  2. Receive your quote — formal written quote on company letterhead within one business day. For commercial/council orders: includes AS 5604 spec sheet, ABN, UNSPSC code 56101700.
  3. Confirm order — accept the quote and pay deposit to begin production.
  4. Production and delivery — your tables are built to spec and delivered to site.
